Idaho Springs, CO

We had a great day visiting Idaho Springs, CO.  This little mining town has a lot of history.  Walking downtown we were able to see many of the original buildings that now house quaint little shops and restaurants. I love the many different colors of the houses.  The thought of living in a little town is not appealing to me not sure what keeps anyone here, we did notice many breweries so many that helps!!!  No malls here so I guess I’m not moving!!  But they did have a shop where they make yummy homemade chocolates and of course I bought some!!  J

Idaho Springs, was founded in 1859, it’s the site of the first significant discovery of the Colorado Gold Rush. Mining was largely responsible for the creation and growth of Idaho Springs, and today the city continues to preserve and celebrate its rich heritage.

Tomorrow we’ll be hanging around the campsite and Saturday we’re leaving for Cheyanne WY.
